Porta potty or restroom trailer for a wedding?

Porta potty or restroom trailer for a wedding?

When is a restroom trailer the right choice for a wedding?

A restroom trailer is the right choice when the wedding is formal, guests stay 5 hours or more, and the venue has a garden hose spigot and a 110-volt outlet within about 100 feet. A 2-station trailer serves about 100 guests over 6 hours.

Trailers have flushing toilets, running-water sinks, mirrors, lights and climate control. Learn more on restroom trailer rental.

When are deluxe flushing porta potties better?

Deluxe flushing porta potties are better when the venue has no water or power, such as a field, pasture or backyard far from the house. Each deluxe unit has a foot-pump flush and a sink, and serves about 75 to 100 guests for a 4-to-6-hour reception.

Pair 2 deluxe units with 2 standard units for 150 guests to keep cost down. See deluxe flushing units.

How do the costs compare?

For 150 guests over 6 hours with a bar, 6 standard units usually cost about $990 to $1,350, 2 deluxe plus 2 standard units about $860 to $1,150, and a 2-station trailer plus 1 standard unit about $1,060 to $1,675, all before tax and distance fees.

What about guests who use a wheelchair?

Guests who use a wheelchair cannot climb restroom trailer steps, so add one wheelchair-accessible porta potty on a hard, level path near the tent whatever else you choose. Older guests and guests with walkers will use it too.

See ADA and handicap porta potties.

How far ahead should a couple book?

Book wedding restrooms 4 to 8 weeks ahead for May through October Saturdays, and earlier for restroom trailers. Porta potties for off-season or weekday weddings can usually be booked 1 to 2 weeks ahead. A deposit is not needed to hold a date; the itemized quote does that.
